Poet and author Constance Briones will discuss her debut historical fiction novel, Try Before You Trust.

Newly independent and developing readers will build the skills needed to become lifelong learners. We will focus on vocabulary development, print and phonological awareness and letter knowledge, rounding out the activity with a brief craft.

Get ready for National Poetry Month in April during this second session of a two-part writing workshop designed to help you write and present a poem for the Ferguson Library Poetry Slam on April 30. 

Mystery writers will discuss how they write their books, where their ideas come from, how they plot the twists and turns, and how they develop their characters.

Screening of the award-winning short documentary The ABCs of Book Banning, followed by a panel discussion with State Sen. Ceci Maher, State Rep.

Raj Tawney will discuss his middle grade novel, All Mixed Up, the story of Kamal Rao, a sixth grader navigating the complexities of life in a suburban town that is far from inclusive.

Practice your reading skills by reading to a trained therapy dog.

Bring a favorite book or pick one from the library before your 15-minute session.
