Time to Check Your Passport's Expiration Date
As part of Passport Awareness Month, the U.S. State Department is encouraging people to apply for their passport in the fall and winter, when demand is down. The agency is also encouraging people to routinely check their passport's expiration date, reminding the public that many countries require a minimum of six months of passport validity.
Get Library Carded
September is National Library Card Sign-up Month, a celebration that stresses the importance of obtaining a library card as a child's most important school supply. It's also a perfect time for you to get your own card, join the Ferguson Library community and learn about all it has to offer this month and beyond.
New Perk for Library Card Holders: Free Online Tutoring
Ferguson Library card holders can now receive up to five free tutoring sessions per week thanks to tutor.com. You can register for your tutor.com account with Ferguson Library here and begin attending fall student success webinars. Online tutoring hours are held from 3 to 10 p.m. daily.

Looking for your next book? You may be in luck. Stamford teens have been writing short book reviews for the library. Come to the Teen Room on the Lower Level of the Main Library and look for the table full of books with a review stuffed in each. You might just walk away with your next great read or a suggestion for a sibling or friend.

Support the Library at the Book It Run & Walk
Registration is now open here for the Friends of the Ferguson Library's Book It, its virtual 5K Run & Walk. For this fundraiser, you can go at your own pace anytime during the month of September, as part of a team or on your own, to show your support for the library's programs and services.

Hoopla, the digital media service offered by the Ferguson Library that allows users to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, e-books, comics and TV shows, relaunched its August Bonus Borrows program.
