Event Details

All ages welcome to a multi-day celebration of Kwanzaa and its seven principles, where you will learn about the cultural holiday and join in the lighting of the candles.

Additional activities include: on day 2, Kujichagulia (self-determination), a presentation of The Black Candle: A Kwanzaa Celebration, a documentary narrated by Maya Angelou; on day 4, Ujamaa (cooperative support), fun with craft-making; and on day 6, Kuumba (creativity), recreation with Kwanzaa coloring sheets.
