Kids Events for Library's 60th Anniversary Celebration of the March on Washington

Join us for a screening and discussion of the animated film based on the 2008 picture book March On! by Christine King Farris, giving her account of the March and the impact of the "I Have a Dream" speech delivered by her brother, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This family event will be held Saturday, August 19 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Main Library and Saturday, August 26 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the South End Branch.

For Make History Your Own, kids can build their own African American history book using stickers depicting dozens of civil rights fighters and pioneers in government, science, technology, business, the arts and more. This craft project will be held August 23 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Main Library and Saturday, August 26 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the South End Branch.

Registration is required for the Main Library events.
