Show support for the Ukrainian people through art.
Come view the installation of large-scale wreaths of flowers in blue and yellow, the colors of the Ukrainian flag, which represent blue skies over golden wheat fields. The wreath is a Ukrainian symbol of peace and innocence. Part of a traditional Ukrainian costume for girls, wreaths are also used in memorials and at times of mourning.
Then join us for a project to create flowers for garlands to display and to take home.
Instruction and supplies provided.
All ages welcome.
The Ukrainian wreath art installation and project is organized by Elena Kalman, AIA, an architect and public artist with a studio in Stamford. She is originally from Kiev, Ukraine, and the war, which has touched her on a deeply personal level, inspired this installation and project.
