Fifty percent of new ventures fail because they make mistakes in defining their market. Brenda Lewis has 42 years of experience in positioning and strategic marketing for tech ventures as principal of Transactions Marketing, Inc. (TMI). TMI manages the launch and funding of B2B mission critical software, systems and services and has launched 24 ventures in healthcare, IT, security, telecommunications, information, fintech, and locations services markets with a 79 percent success rate. Prior to starting TMI, Lewis spent 15 years at Exxon International, Marine Management Systems, Inc. and Pechiney Ugine Kuhlman in systems and industrial marketing.
Lewis graduated cum laude in economics from Smith College and holds an MBA degree from the University of Connecticut. She attended Harvard Business School’s Program for Management Development and earned a Certificate in Telecommunications Management from New York University.
On a pro bono basis, Lewis was a charter organizer of the Kauffman Foundation’s One Million Cups/Stamford. She has also judged many entrepreneurial and start-up venture competitions and serves on the board of the Shippan Point Association.
