Fifty percent of new ventures fail because they make mistakes in defining their market. Brenda Lewis has 40 years of experience in positioning and strategic marketing for tech ventures as principal of Transactions Marketing Inc. (TMI). TMI manages the launch and funding of enterprise mission critical software, systems and services and has launched 24 ventures in IT, security, telecommunications, information, fintech, and locations services markets. Prior to starting TMI, Lewis spent 15 years at Exxon International Marine Management Systems, Inc. and Pechiney Ugine Kuhlman in systems and industrial marketing.
Lewis graduated cum laude in economics from Smith College and holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut. She attended Harvard Business School’s Program for Management Development and earned a Certificate in Telecommunications Management from NYU.
On a pro bono basis, Lewis was a charter organizer of the Kauffman Foundation’s One Million Cups/Stamford. She has also judged many entrepreneurial and startup venture competitions and serves on the board of the Shippan Point Association.
