Event Details
Presentation of the workshop Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR), a bystander intervention training program designed to teach you how to step in and help someone who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts. Participants will learn to recognize early warning signs, identify if someone needs help and how to take action.
The workshop will be led by certified QPR instructors Ingrid Gillespie, Director of Prevention at Liberation Programs and co-chair of the Stamford Local Prevention Council and the Stamford Youth Mental Health Alliance Mental Wellness Committee; Brittany Dube, Behavioral Health, Health Promotion, and Emergency Response Specialist at the Stamford Department of Health and Human Services; and Daniella Arias, a Prevention Coordinator with Liberation Programs.

Ingrid Gillespie has extensive background in community prevention and health promotion. She holds a bachelor's degree in physical education and a master's of science degree in community economic development.
Brittany Dube, a public health professional and a Certified Health Education Specialist, also works as a part-time adjunct professor in public health at Sacred Heart University. She holds a master's degree in public health from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
Daniella Arias, a public health professional with expertise in health education and community health, is a certified health education specialist who holds a master's degree in public health from Sacred Heart University.
