Event Details
For Epilepsy Awareness Month, Sophia Seeger, accompanied by her therapy dog Milo, will read her new children's book Milo&Me: Learn about Absence Epilepsy. The book teaches kids of all ages about epilepsy awareness while helping those with epilepsy to feel seen.
All ages.
Registration required.
At the age of 19, Sophia is also the founder and president of Milo&Me, an epilepsy advocate, public speaker and a college student.
Milo and Sophia are partners who have been through everything together, including one of the hardest challenges for Sophia: epilepsy, which she has lived with since she was 4. At 15, Sophia created Milo&Me, originally a social media account that soon became a 501(C)(3) nonprofit with a mission to spread epilepsy awareness. It gives young women with epilepsy a compassionate community through their virtual East and Central Coast support group while offering educational opportunities to the community about epilepsy. Milo&Me also sponsors a care package program for those struggling with epilepsy to know they are not alone.
