Greenwich Genealogy teacher Janeen Bjork will present case studies of local Italian-American families, demonstrating Genealogy research techniques that apply to any ethnic group, as well as tips that are specific to Italians and Italian-Americans.

The program will emphasize the importance of knowing the town where vital records are stored, be it in Connecticut or Italy, and the resources available to identify the town.

The event will be held on Zoom. Register here.

Janeen Bjork has combined the detective, analytic, and presentation skills she gained in 30 years as a TV researcher with her enthusiasm for family history, in classes and presentations to hundreds of students in New England, New York, New Jersey, and Florida over the last 10+ years. In researching her own Italian roots, she has made multiple trips to Italy, visiting churches, cemeteries and town offices. The program will emphasize the importance of knowing the town where vital records are stored, be it in Connecticut or Italy, and the resources available to identify the town.
