Greenwich genealogy teacher Janeen Bjork will present case studies of local Italian-American families to demonstrate genealogy research techniques that apply to any background as well as tips specifically for Italians and Italian-Americans interested in learning more about their ancestry.

The program emphasizes the importance of knowing the town where vital records are stored, be it in Connecticut or Italy, and the resources available to identify your ancestral hometown.

Registration required here.

Janeen Bjork has combined the detective, analytic and presentation skills she gained in 30 years as a TV researcher with her enthusiasm for family history, as presented in classes and presentations to hundreds of students in New England, New York, New Jersey and Florida over the last 10 years. In researching her own Italian roots, she has made multiple trips to Italy, visiting churches, cemeteries and town offices.
