Springdale, one of Stamford’s most affordable residential neighborhoods today, took generations to evolve. Join preservationist Wes Haynes for a one-hour walking tour of historic buildings that mark Springdale’s journey from industrial village and streetcar suburb to bedroom community, with a focus on how its residential architecture evolved from the 1870s to the mid-twentieth century.
Meet in front of the library at 1 p.m. Please bring water and wear comfortable walking shoes.

Wes Haynes is a preservation planner and architectural historian with more than four decades of experience in the field of historic preservation. He is currently the executive director of the Merritt Parkway Conservancy, a non-profit organization committed to the preservation and revitalization of the beauty of Connecticut’s largest historic district.
