This 1989 rom-com begins in 1977, when college graduates Harry Burns and Sally Albright share a contentious car ride from Chicago to New York, during which they argue whether men and women can ever be friends. Ten years later, Harry and Sally meet again and a close friendship blooms. Both like having a friend of the opposite sex. But can a man and a woman ever be friends without sex getting in the way?
