Alan Murray, CEO of Fortune Media, will deliver his talk Getting Capitalism Back on Track and discuss his new book Tomorrow’s Capitalist: My Search for the Soul of Business, where he argues that narratives about the failures of capitalism, the greed of the one percent and the blindness of corporations to public need have made their mark in American society and are driving change. The response that is emerging, he continues, is a new breed of corporate CEOs who realize they can lose their “operating license” unless they tackle the fundamental issues of our time: climate, diversity, inclusion, inequality and workforce opportunity.
As CEO of Fortune Media, Murray oversees the business and editorial operations of the independent media company and is expanding its digital and conference franchises. He also writes the daily newsletter, Fortune CEO Daily.
Registration required to attend in person.
The Civility in America Series is sponsored by The Dilenschneider Group, the Ferguson Library and Hearst Media Services, Connecticut.
