With winter upon us and the threat of severe cold in the forecast, the City of Stamford announced the names of participating daytime warming centers for residents who need a safe indoor space to escape the cold. They include the Government Center, the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, Building One Community and all branches of the Ferguson Library, which will be open to the public during hours of operation.
Also on the warming centers list are fire stations on Main Street, Fairfield Avenue, Arthur Place, Turn of River Road, Dorlen Road and Old Long Ridge Road. All are open daily, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For fire station contact information, check here.
All warming center locations are drug/alcohol/violence-free zones.
