The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Southwest Connecticut, Laurel House and The HUB will host Resources to Help Guide You Back to School, Work, and Society, a panel discussion featuring experts from these agencies.The free discussion will be held at the Tully Health Center Thursday, April 13 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
Topics to be covered will include:
• Supported education and employment
• Free, evidenced-based classes to better understand a loved one's mental health condition
• Social rehabilitation workshops and groups, including skills for success, emotion management, wellness and a writer's workshop
• Cognitive skill building and remediation
• Where to find local resources
NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots, non-profit organization aimed at improving quality of life for individuals and their families living with mental health conditions. NAMI Southwest CT serves lower Fairfield County.
Laurel House, Inc. is a Stamford-based nonprofit that provides resources and opportunities to help individuals and families coping with mental health conditions across numerous communities lead fulfilling lives.
The HUB is a program of the Regional Youth-Adult Social Action Partnership and is the designated Behavioral Health Action Organization (RBHAO) for Southwestern Connecticut.
