If you’ve recently taken a business, career or financial literacy class, then you’ve met Leshawn McFarlan, who recently joined the Ferguson Library team as a Career and Education Librarian.
Leshawn’s skill set is well suited for these times, when working people and students have been facing increased uncertainty caused by the pandemic. Her typical day may include providing resume and networking instruction, compiling resource information for library users, or sitting down with prospective college students seeking information about financial aid and scholarship options. Need guidance on drafting a budget or understanding how credit works? Leshawn can help you there, too.
After graduating from SUNY The College at Brockport with a B.S. in history, and CUNY Queens College with an M.S. in Library & Information Science, Leshawn kicked off her career as a Job Readiness, Business & Technology Trainer at the Queens Public Library, where she later became a Senior Librarian. Soon after she joined the New York Public Library system, also as a Senior Librarian, where she led collection development, outreach and programming.
Join us in welcoming Leshawn to the Ferguson Library. Call 203 351-8231 for more information about her business, career or financial literacy classes, or to make an appointment with her.
