The Governor's Prevention Partnership will host a free virtual panel discussion on March 10 at 6 p.m. about the ways race and gender impact the lives of young women of color, and the role that mentoring plays in empowering the next generation of women leaders to overcome race and gender stereotypes. The event will also include training that will focus on the overlapping effects of discrimination based on gender and race in the lives of girls and young women of color.
Panelists include Brittany Baines, Executive Director of Phenomental I Am, Inc.; Fallon Thomas, community liaison of the Yale University New Haven Hiring Initiative; and Freda Grant, Coordinator of Conduct Awareness Training and Prevention Education at Yale's Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Education (SHARE) center.
