The City of Stamford will observe African American Emancipation Day at Mill River Park with an afternoon of activities for the whole family. The event, to be held Saturday, June 17 from 12 to 4 p.m., will include displays by area vendors, fun games, good eats, arts & crafts and more. The Ferguson Library will be there too, hosting book giveaways and crafts, and providing information about the library's Passport Services.
On Monday, June 19, the library will also screen two documentaries: Liberty & Slavery: The Paradox of America's Founding Fathers at 11 a.m. and 13th at 3 p.m. Both will be screened at the Main Library in the Dudley N. Williams, Jr. Auditorium.
