Calling all high school juniors and seniors in Stamford: Here's your chance to gain "real-world" professional experience and earn $15 an hour this summer.
The Mayor’s Youth Employment Program (MYEP) gives students paid internships in the corporate, private or non-profit sector as well as training from government employees that covers leadership, team skills, work ethics, customer service, time management, project management, personal finances, and more. Applications are due no later than April 29.
Other application requirements include an essay, job interview (to be conducted in May), proof of Stamford residency, mandatory attendance to a four-day training orientation before the beginning of employment, and committed availability to work from June 20 to July 29. Accepted applicants will work for 28 hours Monday through Thursday and continue their training on Fridays.
